Tribute / Story
: Its funny- My birthday is around the corner and I immediately started thinking of Jody. I was in AXE with Jody- pledged the semester after him. The story that sticks out most in my mind about Jody is one I think all of the girls can probably relate to. I was having problems with the guy I was seeing... probably just whining, honestly, but I was upset and whining to Jody (because you always knew you could). I just remember him repeating over and over again, "thats cause men are PIGS"- each time with more emphasis till finally I was giggling and rolling my eyes at hearing him say it. Every once in a while he threw in "scum sucking pig" and would shake his head with disgust... and then would look up and have a gleem in his eyes. Even know it gives me a warm feeling. And thats how I like to remember Jody. Miss you kiddo! GO HOKIES!

Tribute / Story
: I spent a few minutes browsing through the various parts of the site for the second time and one thing really struck me; Jody seems and feels so alive. I think Jody always did. If I had to pick one characteristic of Jody that made him a unique, vibrant individual it would be his zest for life. I sit here at twenty-four knowing that I have wasted hours, days, months, and maybe even years. The same can not be said of Jody. He is a man who squeezed every minute and ounce of joy out of every day. While I only knew Jody for a very short time, I feel his presence with me often. He is a reminder to us all that life is precious and that we need to savor every moment. For Jody, those moments were especially sweet when filled with anything Hokie. I have to reluctantly admit that he beats me out as the #1 Hokie Fan of all time. As I sit here and try to find the right words, so many memories come flooding back. So many positive, wonderful things can be said about Jody. I find it ironic that we called Jody the "old man" when he will truly be "Forever Young."
Jody - We love and miss you tremendously. Keep an eye out for us and the football team. :) We can all use an extra angel in our lives. God Bless!

Tribute / Story
: My story pretty much reloves around all of the tailgates I went to, that Jody set up. It was his parking spot and he was the one that usually organized the entire thing, and sent out e-mails trying to get people to bring food. Jody would always bring these small ham biscuits that were the BEST!!! and then he brought something that I had never tried, which were surprisingly good: fried pickles(sounds different, but try them sometime). He also would ALWAYs bring pico de galo sauce (which for some reason was renamed pico de hoho...not sure why). The tailgates were as fun as the games themselves and some of the tail gates were about half a day, and I don't think Jody missed a minute of them. I had a blast at those tailgates and I know Jody did too, b/c it involved HOKIE football and hanging out with his friends. He loved getting his friends together to hang out and drink some yucca despite arctic temperatures.

Tribute / Story
: Ok I'll start. It's not easy to write something here, but I wanted everyone to be able to come here and write anything about Jody. If you simply want to write how much he meant to you, or you want to write about a funny story you remember. Anything. So when I decided to write something first I didn't know what to write, but here goes.
I only knew Jody for a short time, but in that time I learned that he was a really wonderful, caring person. He ran those damn tailgates like nobody else could! He really loved the Hokies, as you ALL know. He was very involved with AXE, and I have been told he turned that fraternity around! He had a passion for wines like no one else I knew. And man could that boy COOK!!! He always had friends over for dinner, one night I remember he made us some delicious chicken, salad, and of course wine. I asked him where he got this recipe for chicken, and he told me "I just added some ingredients and kept tasting it". Well he got it perfect, it was absolutely delicious!
Jody was a great guy and I cherish every minute I got to spend hanging out with him. My life will never be the same having known him, and that is what life is truly about. I miss him so VERY much.
-Jay
