Tribute / Story : It has been a whole year since we lost our friend Jody. I still really can't believe that this is the way it is. Even when I sit here and work on this website and type out the Alumni Newsletter article about him, or scan in the scholarship article, I still just don't believe it. I hope that Mr. and Mrs. Goad are doing alright, especially on this hard day. Jody we all still miss you and will never forget the effect you had on all of our lives in MANY different ways. Thank you for being a friend to so many people.

-Jay

Tribute / Story : It's so hard to believe that it's been a full year already. So much has happened to everyone in the last year...peoples lives are changing and it's just such a shame that Jody couldn't be a part of it all. I know he's always there, supporting everyone in everything that they do. I really miss you today, just like any other day.

Tribute / Story : I remember meeting Jody when I pledged AXE my freshman year. He was by far one of the people that I remember meeting. He always made a point of getting to know new people that were intrested in AXE. He made me feel at home even though I was surrounded by people I didn't know. I remember a few times during a function that me and him would be waiting for pledges and we would just talk about anything and everything. I have countless memories of Jody but these are the first ones that I have.

Tribute / Story : I remember going down to the Hokie House to celebrate Jody's birthday one year. We were upstairs and Jody and I were sitting in the corner watching Matt and Scott shoot pool. Someone had just bought him a shot and we were talking about birthdays (both of ours were within about 2 weeks of each other, mine was coming up) and he was saying how he was getting old and that I was just a youngin' (Jody was 3 years older than me). So I don't know what to say. Today is Jody's birthday, and I just wanted to write something to say that I was thinking about him today.

Tribute / Story : I remember 2 years ago (one week after I left blacksburg) when I went to a wine party in Knollwood(in blacksburg) on 1-12-02. This party was to celebrate several birthdays in January, one of which was Jody's. I remember hanging out and drinking, but the thing that stands out most about that party is a picture that was taken of Jody and I. The picture is framed and is on my entertainment center so I see it all the time. Each time I look at it, I still can't believe he is gone. Miss ya buddy.
