Tribute / Story
: Wow,
I can't believe I am just now finding out that Jody has moved on. I talked with him via e-mail back in the late 90's about Genealogy stuff, and how we must have been related. And of course he already knew how we were related. And, of course, he knew all my relatives, and had talked with many of them during his research.
And now, after several years, I pick up the genealogy pile again, and there he is, still helping.S o many gifts he has left with us ...

Tribute / Story
: Happy Belated Birthday. Sorry I didn't get to write anything on that day, but I was thinking of you...like I always do. I'm sure everyone can agree that you were missed in New Orleans this year. Certain things just don't seem the same knowing you aren't physically there. I know you are there watching everything and supporting the team and even all of us in the things we are doing or going thru. It's still so hard to believe that another birthday has come and gone and you weren't here to share it with us. Happy Birthday, my friend.

Tribute / Story
: Jody and his mother Nada both helped me early on when I started my EDWARDS search in Carroll and Grayson Counties VA. Jody worked at the courthouse as I recall because of his great interest in his heritage. He knew how to gather the information like no one else his age. I thought he was much older than he was when he first started helping me. Then I learned Jody was going off to College! I thought he had long graduated from college. He was very proud of his alma mater and I always had no doubt he was an excellent student, afterall, research is what a graduate degree is all about. I have been working on my genealogy continuously but only recently returned to do my Edwards research. I was absolutely shocked minutes ago when I learned of Jody's fatal illness. I know what a brain tumor fight is all about. One other friend of mine lost his life to a brain tumor. I am so very very sad to hear this wonderful spirited young man had such a short life on earth. I think this page is a great tribute to dear Jody....I thank the Goad family for setting it up so we can share our thoughts with each other. May God bless this entire family and all of Jody's dear friends.

Tribute / Story
: I first met Jody when he visited Penn State with other AXE Gamma Iota members back in the spring of 1999. He was one of the friendliest people I had ever met and he was so much fun to be around. He came out to other PSU events and always went out of his way. I was able to visit Virgina Tech a few times over that next year for different fraternity events. We had such a good time. I can still remember the Fall formal at Gamma Iota when a few of us PSU folks crashed at Jodys. The late night snacks creations and oh the fun we had. It was a great time.
Then when I heard about Jody being sick it made me so upset. To hear that someone with such a big heart had something so bad happen to him was just not fair. Upon hearing his passing I was saddened.
Jody was a great person and will surely be missed. He not only touch the lives of brothers of the fraternity at VT but he became friends with many of us PSU and he will definitely be missed.
