Out Here

Step out of Davidson like a fool
into the wind where no one notices
the contrast of yellow on blue

And in the middle of PT 2
the brothers get a better view
of the ironic wanderings of the pledges

We walk in the mud between dorms
through the prairie and back again
Where?                      We don't know

The wyvern says its coming
Through the forest We hear it
Why?                        We don't know

Out here we always walk too far
Out here something really smells

The wyvern came from Madison with a hexagon in its hand
It said it would like to meet ann alchemist who looked like Afshin
It walks along the edge of where the duck pond meets the sidewalk
Just like its walking on a wire in the circus
It stops flying around the tennis courts
Sees some pledges punching
Says its close to understanding this
It knows its more than just a little strange
It has trouble acting normal when its purple

Out here were hauling our backpacks
Out here we all look real lame
Out here we talk like lost people
But we find our way like pros
Out here it's slipping through our hands

Creeping brothers get to ride the elevator
Down to the relieved pledges
Alchemy's little baby better get itself in
Out of the baseball game

It says, "It's only a little bit longer."
It says, "Shhh...I know its only a bit longer."

But the wyvern on the roof of the dining hall
says: "Pledges, you should try to take a shot
Don't you see my houses are green?"

Then it looks towards Davidson
and says it's thinking of leaving
It says it's tired of flying
it must tired of something

Out here, it's always on our minds
Out here we've got sore legs
Out here, we never get to bed early
Nobody lets us sleep
Out here, we stay up very very late....
